Says Trump not working in Nigeria’s interest

Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a stark warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alleging that the United States government under President Donald Trump is not acting in Nigeria’s best interest, and may eventually attempt to see Tinubu removed from office.

Ayodele made this claim in a statement released yesterday, through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, in Nigeria. According to him, Trump’s engagement with Nigeria is not genuinely supportive but is instead aimed at undermining Tinubu’s administration.

The cleric claimed that despite efforts by the Nigerian government, the U.S. leader will work against the President, warning that “America isn’t working in favour of Tinubu… Trump will come around against him”. He further asserted that U.S. involvement “could ultimately worsen the country’s situation”.

Ayodele also cautioned authorities to remain vigilant, suggesting there could be coordinated actions or attacks tied to this alleged foreign influence.

Political analysts describe the warning as part of Ayodele’s broader pattern of making high‑profile geopolitical predictions related to Nigerian leadership and international relations, though such claims are widely viewed in political circles as speculative and lacking substantiation.

The development comes amid broader discourse about Nigeria‑U.S. diplomatic engagement, security cooperation, and Tinubu’s 2027 political prospects.
